John Fraley is a conservative, forward thinking businessman and native of Iredell County. John graduated from Statesville City Schools and from UNC – Chapel Hill. His business career began when he joined Cannon Mills, Inc. in New York City in 1973. During his 40 plus years in home textiles John rose to become Senior Vice President – Product at WestPoint Stevens, Executive Vice President of ExCell Home Fashions and Chief Operating Officer of Home Source International. Prior to retiring to run for the N.C. House, John served as CEO of Fraley Global Home and a director and treasurer of the Sereolipi Nomadic Education Foundation, which provides education to over 1,500 students from the nomadic tribes of northern Kenya. John has been married to Adelaide B. Horton of Troutman and Statesville for the past 39 years. They reside in Mooresville and are glad to be “home” after so many years in New York City and southern California.

Why I'm Running

I retired from my business career in 2014 in order to give back via public service. This is the primary reason I ran in 2014 and why I am seeking re-election today. More specifically, I am a firm believer that education is the foundation for the reputation and success of North Carolina. Serving in the House has given me the opportunity to make sure education remains our top priority, is funded in a fiscally responsible manner and has the policy support to provide our students the education they will need to provide for their families and drive N.C. forward for years to come.
